Ashley Enea, Studio Director

A nationally recognized, award winning dancer and choreographer, Ashley Enea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in performing arts with an emphasis in dance graduating with honors from Saint Mary's College of California. At the age of thirteen, Ashley joined her first competitive dance team and was soon thrust into the limelight when she won a spot in the Fatima Robinson, (choreographer for Michael Jackson and the Backstreet Boys,) Learn How to Dance home video. Over the past decade, she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop and cheerleading with the most prestigious choreographers on the West Coast. Ashley has performed on stage with Davy Jones, (The Monkees,) was a featured dancer at the opening of The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, the opening ceremony of Disney's California Adventure and the Stars at Sea show for Princess Cruise Lines. Ashley has been teaching her dance curriculum at respected dance academies and studios in the Bay Area for the past eight years. Her passion for teaching has made her one of the studio's most sought after instructors. She loves her student's excitement and enthusiasm about coming to class and thrives on spreading the joy of dance through a safe environment, positive reinforcement, and most of all patience!

Kristin McCollum, Assistant Studio Director

Kristin McCollum is an East Bay based dance artist and educator. In 2004, she earned her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Dance, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Ca, gaining a spot on the National Dean's List. She has had the great fortune of training with and performing the choreography of many world renowned and recognized commercial and contemporary dance choreographers/master teachers such as Holly Johnston (LAB dance project), Jason Myhre, Paige Porter and Patrick Damon Rago. Kristin was invited to join the LAB dance project as a principal dancer in 2004. Her professional performances include the Los Angels Times reviewed Spectrum Dance in L.A. # 15 and #19, as well as the Mabilu Dance Festival in 2004. She and her colleagues were recognized and hand selected to perform at the 2004 ACDFA's (American College Dance Festival Association) prestigious Regional Gala performance. Kristin has been performing and training in jazz, hip hop, ballet and contemporary for 22 years and has been teaching and choreographing for the last 12 of those years.

Shelby Weis

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska Shelby began dance at the age of three. She trained with Ballet Omaha and Omaha Theatre Dance under the direction of Robin Welch and performed professionally in Coppelia, The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Cinderella, and The Music Man. Shelby holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in modern dance performance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. While at there, Shelby assisted in the reconstruction of Martha Graham's Steps On the Street. Shelby has performed with Brian Sander's JUNK, the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and the Omaha Modern Dance Collective. Before her recent move to the Bay Area, Shelby taught and choreographed at The Broadway Connection, as well as the Omaha Theatre Company for Young People's Mindspaces outreach program. Shelby is excited to join the EBDC staff and share her love of dance!

Tanya Evans

Tanya has studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern styles of dance all over the Bay Area. Tanya started her dance career with an emphasis in ballet and tap training under Tina Jensen and Marcy Balbas in Milpitas. While there, she landed principle roles in ballet productions of The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Stars and Stripes Forever. After moving to the East Bay, Tanya trained and competed under the direction of Aggie Eidson with an emphasis in modern and jazz. While competing, Tanya received numerous awards such as All Star Kar Kid at KAR competition, 1st place overall at Legacy and 1st place at Dance Masters of California. Currently, Tanya is dancing with Coterie Dance Company in Oakland.

Catherine Santos

Cathrine has been studying in the styles of jazz, modern, belly dancing, and hip hop around the East Bay. Cathrine started her training in dance at San Ramon Valley High School. She is currently studying under the direction of Kimberly Valmore specializing in jazz and modern at Diablo Valley College, where she received the role of a principal dancer for their drama production of Cabaret. In addition, Cathrine has performed in Peter Pan Foundation’s production of Wish Upon A Star as a dancer and a lead singer, and has now received the pleasure of being a choreographer for the Bay Area Magic Makers. Just recently, she co-founded FEARLESS dance and is continuing with them as a dancer and a choreographer. EBDC welcomes Cathrine at her first year with us!

Lindsey Saravia

Lindsey started dancing when she was 14 and fell madly in love with it. She graduated from Saint Mary's College with a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts with an emphasis on Dance and had her senior project Lamentation for the Wondering performed at the American College Dance Festival in Ohio and the Dance Is... Festival in Berkeley CA. After graduating she auditioned for and was accepted to The Alvin Ailey School for Dance's Independent Study Program in New York City where she studied under masters of dance including the late great Denise Jefferson. Now happily back in the Bay Area, she continues to study with her mom, who was her very first teacher, as well as in San Francisco.

Lauren Foos

Lauren started her training at age five, in San Diego, California, where she quickly fell in love with classical ballet. After moving to the bay area, Lauren spent one year dancing at Contra Costa Ballet before she was accepted into the San Francisco Ballet School. Lauren trained there for five years where she performed the role of Clara in the Nutcracker. Lauren spent five years training with Marina Eglevsky- the daughter of world renowned Danseur Noble, Andre Eglevsky. During this time she was given the opportunity to travel and dance at the Ballett Schule Hamburg Ballett , John Cranko Schule Stuttgart Ballett , as well as participated in several programs in Europe run by teachers from the best schools, including the Paris Opera Ballet. Lauren also spent three summers with Suzanne Farrell and on full scholarship at the L’Academie de Danse Classique Du Princess Grace in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Due to injuries, Lauren decided to pursue a career in education and enjoys passing all her experiences and knowledge to students of all ages.
