Wardrobe and dress code:
All students must wear tight fitting clothing that shows their bodylines. Proper dance attire includes: leotards, tights and jazz pants. Hair must pulled back and securely tightened.
Students must have proper shoes for each class:
- Black jazz shoes split soul for jazz and hip-hop (any brand)
- Black tap shoes (any brand)
- Pink ballet shoes split soul (any brand)
- Non-streaking tennis shoes for adult hip-hop or cheerleading
Jeans and skirts are Not appropriate dance attire and students may be asked to sit out for a portion of the class.
Bare feet or socks are never allowed.
Ballet- Students must wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers with their hair securely in a bun.
Pre-dance:
Any colored leotard with appropriate shoes for each class. Dancers will only need ballet or tap shoes, not jazz shoes.
Late arrival:
Students arriving more than 15 minutes late to class will be asked to sit and watch. The dancer will not be properly stretched out which can result in injury.
Absences :
If a student is absent from class, they are encouraged to take a make up class. They have the option to choose from any of our classes' whether it is the same discipline or not. If a student is absent more then once, they can only make up one class per calendar month. Please call the office in advance of any absence and advise the studio which class will be substituted so proper arrangements can be made.
Observation :
We invite parents to be our guest and to observe class from our lounge.
Financial :
If a student decides to withdraw from class or transfer to a different class, parent must do so in writing by the 15th of the month. No exceptions.
Promotional :
It is mutually agreed that any and all photographs taken or commissioned by East Bay Dance Company of our students shall become the property of EBDC, which shall include unconditional rights for distribution and publication in all media.
